Assetto Corsa is a racing simulator from the Italian studio Kunos Simulazioni, made for people who care about realistic car behaviour. It offers dozens of cars, from road sports cars to race machines, and tracks, some of them laser-scanned, including Laguna Seca.

It feels like a genuine simulator: tyre physics, car weight and suspension setup clearly affect how you steer. You can work through a career of races against AI, set lap times, practise drifting, or simply drive a favourite car around a familiar track. A wheel is best, but a gamepad is perfectly playable, just harder.

According to HowLongToBeat, the main line takes about 40 hours and a full run about 310, so the game is built for a long hobby. In a month at roughly 60 hours you can finish the career, but not everything. Single-player works offline; online races with other players are not part of the rental.
