S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in Ukrainian: full voice-over, text and how to set them separately
October 20, 2026 · 2 min read
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl supports Ukrainian everywhere: interface, subtitles and full voice-over. How to pick text and voice languages independently, and what about Russian.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is fully available in Ukrainian: interface, subtitles and complete voice-over. It is one of only two languages the game was fully voiced in, the other being English. No fan patch is needed: the game comes from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, and Ukrainian was part of it from the start.

Full voice-over exists only in Ukrainian and English. The studio dropped Russian voice-over back in 2022: according to mezha.ua, GSC said the game would ship with English and Ukrainian audio only.
Text and voice are chosen separately
The game lets you set them independently, which is handy. According to the game's support page:
- Open Options from the main menu.
- Go to the Game section.
- Use the arrows to choose the text language and the voice-over language, then apply the changes with the key shown at the bottom of the screen.
Two popular setups:
- Ukrainian voice with Ukrainian subtitles: the most straightforward option if you want to hear and read your own language.
- Ukrainian voice with English subtitles: a common choice for people who like the atmosphere of the Ukrainian dub and want English practice. Some Steam players say constant subtitles break the immersion, so you can also switch them off.
If you were looking for a Russian patch
No separate Russian patch is needed: Russian text and subtitles are already in the game, and the studio cancelled the Russian voice-over. Anyone hoping for a fully Russian game won't get one. The most complete option here is the Ukrainian dub, and nothing has to be added to it.
